Marimekko for Google

Did you happen to catch this yesterday? Such a delight! Happy Spring : )

5 Things to Love / November J.Crew Catalog

I received the November J.Crew catalog in the mail last week. There’s always a handful of things that I love about the catalog.

1. Animals & Stripes – The animal print bag takes this outfit to the next level (bracelets and heels help too). Love the stripe and animal combo.

2. Color Palette – This cascade of blazers carries all of my favorite fall colors. I’ll take one of each, please!

3. PINK! – What’s not to love about this page? I love that they took the whole page and flooded it with pink to make this simple shipping announcement. POW!

4. Red Handbag – As you can see, it goes with everything. I’ll always choose red over brown when it comes to handbags and shoes. Just as versatile and way more fun.

5. Simple & Chic – I could wear this look everyday, and feel awesome.

Simple pattern and color makes for an eye-catching presentation. Seed packaging from The Balcony Gardner. Love!

Little Sapling Toys

Love all of their stuff – Little Sapling Toys.

Classic Red Bag

Love these structured red leather bags. Top is Edie from JCREW and bottom is Alto from Dooney & Bourke. Red is one of my most favorite colors when it comes to accessorizing, so it makes it super hard to resist wanting one of these bags! I’ll just admire them from afar for now : )

Fantastic Color from Marilyn Monroe

I was checking in with one of my go-to online magazines, Stylist, and noticed they have this wonderful image of Marilyn Monroe adorning the cover of their August 2011 issue. Love the play of colors in this shot.

Sixties Inspired

Sparky & Marie prints are very much inspired by floral prints and patterns from the Sixties. These images were pulled from H is for Home’s Flickr photo stream. Many more fun images there to inspire.

Japanese Silk Screened Paper

I was crafting this past weekend with Japanese silk screened paper (will post project on Friday). Love this paper, and always keep several different sheets on hand for various uses – wrapping gifts, collage, book binding, etc. Paper Mojo has a really wonderful selection.

Textile Print Block Wood Stamps

Back in 2007, my husband and I received three textile block print wood stamps for an engagement present from our dear friends. I had them displayed in our living room – just the three of them – until last summer when we took a trip to Martha’s Vineyard for a wedding, and I found two more to add to the collection. This past weekend, I visited the Long Beach Flea Market with my sister (visiting from Chicago) and my husband, and was happy to find two more! It would be amazing if I could travel to India, and experience this art first hand, but for now I will simply enjoy my growing collection.

The stamps shown are the two that I picked up at the Long Beach Flea Market.

Tulip Fields Forever

You know how Google searches can sometimes lead you to the most wonderful online places? Well, I came across a blog called The Style Files, and while browsing the blog I discovered these amazing aerial shots of tulip fields from the Netherlands. I’ve seen flower farms in California, but not from such an awesome point of view. Can someone make me a rug using the colors and patterns shown here?
