Here’s a Nice Quote / Coco Chanel
Came across a 128th birthday tribute (August 19th) to Coco Chanel on the Stylist. You can click through images and quotes from her life and work HERE. I was most taken by the image shown above, and this quote “How many cares one loses when one decides not to be something but to be someone.” — Coco Chanel

Tea Revives You
My favorite beverage this summer has been iced mint green tea. I drink it in the afternoon after lunch, and it really does revive me.
How do I make my iced tea?
It’s smart to start with a high quality loose leaf tea (bagged works too). I purchase my teas from Art of Tea. They have a wide variety of organic and fair trade teas, tisanes and botanicals. I love them most for their wonderfully creative blends (like White Coconut Crème).
1/ Measure tea into a pitcher (I use about one teaspoon of tea for every 8oz of filtered water).
2/ Fill the pitcher with filtered water.
3/ Cover and let sit in the fridge for 8-10 hours.
4/ Strain and enjoy over crushed ice.

Practice Makes Perfect
At least that was one of Malcolm Gladwell’s points in his book Outliers – The Story of Success, but he refers to it as “The 10,000 Hour Rule.” Basically, you need 10,000 hours of practice under your belt in order to become an expert in anything. What are you waiting for?

Wisdom from Andy Warhol
My friend Kathryn Murray “pinned” this quote (on Pinterest). It came from a design blog that posts words of wisdom on Wednesdays. I have a tendency to over think most things, and this is a good reminder to let go and create.
