This past weekend my husband and I spent Saturday morning with our wonderful friends, Dave and Jessica, and their sweet baby girl, Alice. Jessica is from Sweden, and has effortless style. Every time we see her she looks fabulous in a very natural way. Her outfits always inspire me.

When we saw Jessica on Saturday she was wearing the following:

Worn in boots – similar to THESE from Seychelles.
Patterned short skirt – almost like THIS one from Anthropologie.
Easy Fit heather gray t-shirt (tucked in) – similar to THIS from J. CREW.

I can’t remember if her nails were painted, but she’ll occasionally sport classic red painted nails – like Pillar Box Red from Butter London.

Last week, I went out to dinner with my dear friend Alissa from The Goods Design. Alissa is an interior designer who has superb taste and a great talent for accessorizing. She came to dinner sporting some sensible 1st layer basics – perfectly worn-in jeans, a comfy heather gray tissue tee, and ballet flats. Then, for the 2nd layer she mixed in a bright kiwi (almost acid yellow) cardigan, a chevron patterned statement piece of jewelry, and bright fuchsia nail polish. I was obsessed with the color/pattern/texture mix.

Cardigan from JCREW.
Ring from Bloomingdale’s.
Nail Polish from Essie.

Here’s to a great week!
